My dream is to create paintings and drawings that encourage hearts, remind people of truth in a dark world, and foster connection.

I never thought I'd have my own website and sell my work someday. I was a little redheaded girl running barefoot in Africa, dreaming of being a "haircutter" or a "writer" or a "teacher" or a "mom" when I grow up. Never did I think "Artist" was a possibility.

But as I grew into a teenager and young adult, I realized how tough this world is. I saw so many reminders all over of brokenness and darkness-- the news, harsh words, selfish behavior, and more. I found that I had to fight to keep my mind fixed on truth.

To be honest, I still have to fight everyday to set my mind on "whatever is true, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable" (Philippians 4:8). I don't think this is a fight that we ever get to stop participating in, unless we give up and let darkness win in our hearts.

This is why I paint. I need reminders. Clear, beautiful, honest reminders of Truth. Reminders to focus on eternal things, not worldly things.

So I began to paint. They say that a picture is worth a thousand words... so I paint to tell a story. To remind you that the darkness will not win in the end.
