Home is Where We Are

This 5x7 inch gouache painting is on watercolor paper. This sketch is inspired by the idea of home. Having grown up overseas in a little-known country in Africa, "home" has been a concept I've struggled to understand. 

But I've learned that home has more to do with who you're with rather than where you are. As a Christian, I know my eternal home is in heaven with my Lord God, the lover of my soul. 

My home in this world is where my loved ones are. And where my loved ones are, there are sure to be cookies nearby!
